source Apple Pay (Apple Inc., launched October 2014). The two-tone payment confirmation chime is part of Apple's broader UI sound design language. Use case: every lock feels like a transaction confirmed. Trivia: Apple's product sounds are designed by Apple's in-house audio team; the philosophy is that sounds should be "unobtrusive, informative, and pleasant" — a balance the Pay chime achieves perfectly.
