Community guidelines
What we keep out of the library, how we label strong language, and how to report a sound.

Tesla Lock Sound has no user accounts and takes no public uploads or sound requests, so these guidelines describe what we do with the library, not what visitors must do. The one rule for visitors is in the terms of service: use sounds for personal, non-commercial use in your own car.
Content we remove
We remove these from the library when we find them or when someone reports them.
Hateful content
- Slurs, derogatory terms, or hate speech targeting any group
- Content that demeans or dehumanizes individuals or groups
- Audio promoting discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
Violence and harmful content
- Audio that glorifies violence, terrorism, or criminal activities
- Sounds that could be used to threaten, harass, or intimidate others
- Content promoting self-harm or dangerous activities
- Gore, graphic violence, or disturbing audio content
Other content we remove
- Sexual or sexually suggestive audio content
- Personal information or private recordings made without consent
- Malicious content or audio designed to cause harm
- Content that violates applicable laws
A sound removed for its content stops being served: its page, its download, and its entry in the public API all return not found.
Strong language
Profanity alone does not get a sound removed. A sound we flag as mature keeps its page and its download, and its page says "Contains strong language." under the title. We leave it out of default browsing, search, collections, trending, and recommendations, so you only reach it by a direct link.
Copyright and trademarks
- The clips are third-party works collected from public sound-effect archives. We do not claim to own them.
- If you hold the rights to a clip and want it gone, send a notice under the DMCA policy.
- Brand and character names appear only to describe what a sound is. They do not imply endorsement by the brand.
Reporting a sound
- Use the report control on the sound's page. It attaches the sound's identity for you.
- Or email reports@teslalocksound.com with the sound's title or URL and what is wrong with it.
- Content reports are reviewed by a person.
- If you disagree with a removal, reply to the email or write to support@teslalocksound.com and we will look again.
Changes to these guidelines
We update this page when the way we run the library changes, and we change the "Last updated" date when we do.
