source Knight Rider (NBC, 1982–1986), created by Glen A. Larson. KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand) was the AI supercar partnered with Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff); the sweeping red oscillating LED scanner on KITT's front grille was the show's most recognized visual element. KITT was voiced by William Daniels. Use case: your Tesla just completed a perimeter sweep — all clear. Trivia: Knight Rider was originally pitched as "The Lone Ranger on wheels"; KITT's persona — precise, loyal, occasionally dry — established the template for AI vehicle characters in the decades that followed.
