source "Bad to the Bone" by George Thorogood and the Destroyers (1982, EMI America Records). The slide-guitar opening riff — b-b-b-bad — became a defining sound of rockabilly swagger. Immortalized in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) when John Connor rides a motorbike, and in dozens of films and TV shows since. Use case: tell the parking lot exactly what kind of driver you are. Trivia: Thorogood wrote the song about his own myth — "bad to the bone" was his self-described blues persona — and it took years to be recognized as an American classic; radio initially ignored it.
